A few of my favorite sites on the internet:

Ham Radio Related:
 |
QRZ.com "The"
site to look up other hams and keep up with ham radio news and events.
|
 | eham.net A site
that I would rank a close 2nd to QRZ. I find the Product Review
section on this site to be very useful for real-world opinions of equipment
in the eyes of other hams. Also a good classified section on this
site.
|
 | usrepeaters.com
A super reference for repeaters across the country. Free and easy to
use--it doesn't get much better than that!
|
 | radioreference.com
This site is geared more towards public safety monitoring, but it definitely
has some valuable information available.
|
 | W5FC
Repeater Webcast I used this repeater while traveling in Dallas,
TX a while back and found a great bunch of hams on the frequency. It's
fun to listen in sometimes and see what's going on in their world. (Please
don't forget to disconnect from the webcast if you're not listening!)

Automotive Related:
 | Autopia A site for those who
are truly obsessive-compulsive about cleaning their cars. Some of the
guys are truly "over the top" on here, but there is a lot of good
information for anyone who owns a car and wants it to look good.
|
 | The GM Futurliner Restoration Project
I have had a strange fascination with these vehicles since stumbling onto
this page some years ago. Hours & hours of reading and photos for
a rainy day! |
General:
 | Dogpile My favorite search
engine--it's a "multi-engine" search engine--so it's like hitting
Google, Yahoo, MSN, and Ask all at one time! They do a great job at
merging the results into useful links.
|
 | Open Office Tired of
supporting Mr. Gates or running that "borrowed" copy of
Office? This open-source productivity suite looks and acts just like
the "big-boy" but it is FREE! Documents or
presentations authored by one will open with the other and vice-versa so
there are no compatibility issues. Another nice plus is that you can
create a document in the standard word processor program and then save it as
a PDF file! Again, its a free download with no ads, spyware, etc. and
if you are proficient at the MS products you will be able to handle Open
Office with no trouble. |
